I’ll start with a positive, great size for the price, very good oil. Now for the negative, Old money, should have been called Earl Gray because that is all I can smell when I use it. Gets four stars because I don’t like smelling like Grandma’s tea pot. Aside from that, it’s a great product.
Purchased Temple Smoke Utility Oil and Styling Balm. A great simple to use set of products. Great fragrance.
Good value for money, with some small room for improvement
I bought the Temple Smoke utility oil - Smells more like some kind of wood or tree sap than smoke to me but it is pleasant and inoffensive. The scent isn't quite what I was hoping for as the description made me imagine something more mystical and mysterious with more incense notes, so I'm left a little bit disappointed. I can't smell any of the listed oud note, which I'm quite familiar with from colognes I own. I can smell it while putting it on my beard but it quickly fades into the background, then returns in subtle whiffs occasionally for a few hours. This is probably quite standard for a beard oil but personally I would prefer if it was stronger. The price per weight is very good value compared to more traditional beard oils and it does pretty much the same thing as far as I can tell. My beard feels soft and smooth after application, gradually returning to normal after about a day. Overall quite pleased and I may try the tree ranger version when I run out.
